The 1,000 sf house is split on two levels to maximize habitable space on a limited footprint of 864 sf allowed for accessory dwelling units in Denver, Colorado. This configuration provides the clients with two bedrooms, one bathroom, an open living space and an office.

The kitchen fits in the "storage wall" next to the library and coat closet. The plane of the intermediary wall is cut to provide circulation to the loft and storage underneath. At the top of the stairs, the office is open to the main floor, while the bedroom behind is completely private.

The use of plywood adds texture and warmth to the otherwise simple interior finishes. It was chosen for its affordable beauty and durability.
